Electricity Overview (Roller Kiln)

   According to on-site tests and information obtained from Better Energy in Changzhou, Jiangsu, there are currently 2 transformers with a rated capacity of 2500kVA, voltage level 10kV/0.4kV, with each transformer mainly loading a roller kiln, controlled by 3 distribution switches. The roller kiln is a typical nonlinear load that generates a large amount of harmonics during operation, primarily at the 3rd, 5th, and 7th harmonics, which severely affects the safe and stable operation of other electrical equipment. Harmonic treatment is required to prevent a large amount of high-order harmonics from feeding back into the upper-level power grid and to improve the quality of electrical energy.

After the operation of the welding machine dedicated filter compensation device TSCGD, the power factor increased from 0.58 to 0.96, meeting the requirement of maintaining a monthly average power factor between 0.91 and 0.97; the absolute value of the 3rd harmonic current decreased from 130A to 18.5A; the absolute value of the 5th harmonic current decreased from 255A to 58A; the absolute value of the 7th harmonic current decreased from 170A to 28.6A; the characteristic sub-harmonics were significantly reduced, with a harmonic current filtering rate of up to 75%, meeting the allowable values of GB/T14549-93; the total harmonic voltage distortion rate decreased from 4.5% to 2.5%, meeting national standard requirements, improving the quality of electrical energy, and ensuring safe operation.
