Project Background:
CurrentCigarette Factory Production Equipmentuses a large number of frequency converters, andfrequency convertersare typical nonlinear power sources, which leads to a high harmonic content in its power supply system.The harmonic current content is very high, which seriously increases the harmonic loss in the power supply lines and endangers the safe operation of other electrical equipment.The various departments of the cigarette factory have increasingly clear awareness of energy conservation and consumption reduction, as well as the treatment of harmonic pollution, so harmonic treatment of the power supply system has become a key project for the cigarette factory.
Treatment Plan:
Based on the above situation, our company analyzed the data from on-site testing and found that the harmonics in the cigarette factory are mainly generated by the large current harmonics produced by frequency converters. Therefore, we chose our independently developed Active Power Filter (APFGD) for local and centralized treatment.

From the above data, it can be seen that before the active power filter was put into operation, the phase current of the frequency converter dropped from660A to626A, a decrease of5%.The 5th harmonic current dropped from 111A before compensation to13A after compensation,a decrease of88%.It can be seen that the investment in the active power filter has achieved a good effect in harmonic suppression and energy saving.
