Harmonic Mitigation Plan for Oil Fields: Project Background: The main loads in the oil field are mud pumps and drilling equipment with speed control devices. Since the speed control devices are nonlinear loads, they inevitably cause serious voltage and current distortion, which often leads to errors or inaccuracies in the data recorded by the logging instruments. Therefore, our company conducted on-site data testing for the 50DB and 70DB power supply systems of Daqing Oilfield, the 50DB and 70DB power supply systems of the Shaanxi North Changqing Oilfield, and the 90DB power supply system of Karamay Oilfield in Xinjiang. Oilfield Harmonic Control Plan:
Project Background:
The main loads in the oilfield are mud pumps and drilling equipment with speed control devices. Since the speed control devices are nonlinear loads, they inevitably cause serious voltage and current distortion, which often leads to errors or inaccuracies in the data recorded by the logging instruments. Therefore, our company conducted on-site data testing for the 50DB and 70DB power supply systems of Daqing Oilfield, the 50DB and 70DB power supply systems of Shaanxi Changqing Oilfield, and the 90DB power supply system of Karamay Oilfield in Xinjiang. Data analysis revealed that the serious power quality issues were caused by the harmonic voltage generated by the mud pumps and drilling equipment during operation, which affected the normal functioning of the logging instruments. Therefore, harmonic control is necessary.
Renovation Plan:
Through on-site power quality diagnosis, our company proposed to use the actively developed and produced Active Voltage Quality Regulator (AVQR) to address the harmonics, fluctuations, flicker, and instantaneous interruptions in the power supply voltage for the logging instruments, ensuring reliable operation and accurate recording.
